It&#8217;s a city full of monuments, museums, culture, art and backstreets where any person would love to get lost. We would just like to say that in this day and age, <strong>any of these means of transportation are accessible for those with limited mobility,<\/strong> so we&#8217;re going to lay out all of the options for getting to Barcelona, and which things you&#8217;ll need to keep in mind:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong><i class=\"fa-solid fa-plane\"><\/i> Plane<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you have booked a plane ticket to come to Barcelona, it&#8217;s very important that you let the airline know that you&#8217;ll be travelling in a wheelchair so you can take advantage of the <strong>free services for passengers with special needs<\/strong>. They will also <strong>provide you with another wheelchair so you can check your own with your luggage<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong><i class=\"fa-solid fa-train\"><\/i> Train<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>You may prefer to get to the Catalonian capital via train such as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.renfe.com\/viajeros\/larga_distancia\/productos\/\">AVE<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.renfe.com\/viajeros\/larga_distancia\/productos\/euromed.html\">Euromed<\/a>, Regional, etc., depending on your city or town of origin. Arriving by train is no problem since all trains stop <strong>at the <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Estaci%C3%B3n_de_Barcelona_Sants\">Estaci\u00f3 de Sants<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/es.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Barcelona-Estaci%C3%B3n_de_Francia\">Estaci\u00f3 de Fran\u00e7a <\/a><\/strong>stations, which offer <strong>free services for those with reduced mobility with no need to book in advance! Fantastic, isn&#8217;t it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong><i class=\"fa-solid fa-car\"><\/i> Car<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Sometimes the most confortable way to visit Barcelona is to come from your city or town of origin by car. In our city we are <strong>very lucky because most public<\/strong> (you can see the Barcelona City Council <a href=\"https:\/\/www.aparcamentsbsm.cat\/es\/los-aparcamientos\/la-red-de-parkings-de-barcelona\/\">parking network here<\/a>) <strong>and private parking lots have various parking spaces for those with limited mobility<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h4><strong><i class=\"fa-solid fa-bus\"><\/i> Bus<\/strong><\/h4>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Taking the bus is yet another easy and comfortable option when visiting the Catalonion capital! Most of the companies that manage these bus trips, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.alsa.es\/\">ALSA<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flixbus.es\/\">FLIXBUS,<\/a> <strong>tend to make their last stop at Barcelona&#8217;s <a href=\"https:\/\/www.barcelonanord.cat\/inici\/\">Estaci\u00f3 del Nord<\/a>. From the very beginning we&#8217;ve been talking about how <strong>the streets and neighborhoods in Barcelona&#8217;s city center are quite flat, and they are very accessible for those with limited mobility<\/strong>. But that&#8217;s not all! There are other elements that should be kept in mind as well. <strong>Have we told you that public transport within the city is accessible?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s important to note that alongside being able to navigate the streets of the city themselves, <strong>you will have no issues using public transport with your wheelchair<\/strong>. One option, which is the most-used means of public transportation because it criss-crosses the whole city as well as part of the metropolitan area, is <strong>the<\/strong> <strong>metro.<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/albergueesplaibarcelona.com\/ca\/blog-ca\/transport\/moures-en-metro-per-barcelona\/\">We&#8217;ve prepared a post<\/a> where you can see which metro stations are or are not accessible for those with reduced mobility so you can bear that in mind as you plan out your trip.
