The Festival
Esperanzah is a cooperative festival made up of a good network of people, groups and entities. We are talking about a horizontal and democratic model, and non-profit. In 2008 this festival premiered with a performance by Manu Chao. Here are some interesting points about the Esperanzah Festival that will help you get to know it better:
- All tickets purchased for this festival are a donation. The way you read it: the money from these tickets goes 100% to projects that help build a fairer, more caring, sustainable and regenerative world.
- This festival has managed to create a local ecosystem of social and solidarity economy with more than 75 projects and initiatives that have generated more than 240 jobs. Amazing, right?
- Esperanzah tries to transform the world of culture: they promote the social economy and accompany the cooperativization of music groups, as has been the case of Balkan Paradise Orchestra, Maruja Limón, Txarango, etc.
- Did you know that in 2018 the Esperanzah Festival made history within the sector? It was the first festival to program a 100% female line-up (including technical and security teams) with more than 40 artists in it.
- During these years of different editions of the Esperanzah Festival, it has raised and donated more than € 400,000 to organizations such as Open Arms, Caminando Fronteras, Mujeres Savías de San Cosme, Nzuri Daima, Stop Mare Mortum and many more.
