Responsible and sustainable tourism policy

Being aware of the importance of maintaining sustainable tourism development and taking on the principles and objectives specifically adopted at the World Summit on Sustainable Development 2015, COP 21 and the World Charter for Sustainable Tourism +20, Fundació Catalana de l’Esplai commits to undertaking a sustainable management of its activities through the adoption of commitments geared towards preventing, eliminating or reducing the impact of our facilities and activities, whether internal or external, and also to optimize the sustainability of the establishment by improving its interaction with the environment.

As a result, our company has adopted the following responsible tourism policy through which we undertake to fulfil the requirements established in our BIOSPHERE membership, which include, among other things, the legal requirements that regulate the effects caused by tourism activity.

We also undertake to motivate and train our staff with training and awareness-raising actions on the principles of responsible tourism, to promote good practices within the environment, to participate in external activities, and to keep others informed, both internally and externally, about the company’s progress and environmental undertakings.

Likewise, our company professes their express commitment to combat sexual exploitation or any other form of commercial exploitation and harassment, particularly of children, adolescents, women and minorities, and we are committed to adopting universal accessibility measures.

One of our main objectives is to improve sustainable management, taking on the commitment to continuously improve in all areas of sustainability whether social, economic or environmental, as well as customer satisfaction. To this end, projects for future extensions of the facilities or activities will be subject to the sustainability and efficiency criteria for the use of resources.

This responsible tourism policy will be updated whenever the circumstances require it, and will always adopt and publish new sustainability objectives.
