The ecological hostel Centre Esplai was inaugurated in 2007 with all kinds of facilities: hostel, training classrooms, auditorium, garden, etc. and over the last few years we have been expanding all these facilities! Fundesplai’s activity is constantly growing and for us it is very important to give a super boost to the work we do for children, young people, families, the third sector and social and environmental transformation, all this with the support of the City Council of El Prat de Llobregat and the Generalitat de Catalunya!
The new set of facilities includes the extension of the hostel, new workrooms, the agora, a large pavilion and the A Prop cafeteria, where you can eat wonderfully. Do you want to discover what these spaces are like? Read on!
50 NEW ROOMS – Expansion of the hostel
The surface area of this new extension of the Centre Esplai Hostel consists of 5,300 m²! This has allowed us to create 50 new rooms, which translates into 150 beds in total, as each of the new rooms has two single beds and a sofa bed! We can also find a reception with lobby, different living rooms and, of course, a games room with table soccer, billiards and table tennis!
The rooms are 20.80 m2 in size and, as mentioned above, can be for single, double or triple occupancy. They are suite-type rooms with a very spacious bathroom with shower! In addition, it is worth mentioning that all of them are exterior, with a small balcony or window and plenty of natural light!
14 new workrooms and an agora
You will also be able to enjoy the services that we offer throughout the entire venue, such as the 14 new workrooms. Fully equipped classrooms for meetings, congresses, training sessions, conferences, etc. And that’s not all! It also has a large space called Agora, which we are sure you will love.
All these spaces are integrated into a fully sustainable building, certified by BIOSPHERE (sustainable tourism) and EMAS (environmental improvement). The new facility has been built following energy efficiency criteria: it produces clean energy through solar panels and geothermal energy, has water saving systems that reduce water consumption by up to 50% compared to a building of the same characteristics, and has LED lighting and solar tubes. In short, it is a building that helps us to combat climate change and reduce the ecological footprint of our activities.
A multipurpose space
The Alberg Centre Esplai has a multi-purpose pavilion of 1,067.53 m², prepared to host large-scale events such as sports activities, conferences, shows, exhibitions, workshops, cultural or corporate events, congresses… In addition, it can be rented independently, without the need for accommodation.
It is a large and open space, located next to the Barcelona airport, which adapts perfectly to your needs! And if you are over 12 years old and you are passionate about basketball, join our academy and play basketball during the week!
Cafeteria A prop
Located next to the multipurpose pavilion of Centre Esplai, the Cafeteria A Prop is a cozy space that invites you to stay. Don’t miss its gastronomic proposal: elaborate dishes, assorted sandwiches, delicious sweets, snacks, drinks, coffees and infusions, all finger-licking good!
